P90X Week 3
Well I just finished week two and started week 3 on Sunday. I gave in and cheated a little bit on the diet, had some alcohol this weekend and some buffalo chicken pizza at Shady Grove, but other than that I’ve been staying on the diet pretty strictly.
I’m still hovering around the same weight as when I started, but the difference between picture #1 and yesterday’s picture #3 is definitely noticeable. My arms and shoulders are noticeably larger and my back and abs are starting to get a little definition. I’m sure as the weeks go on I’ll be seeing even more changes.
One thing I’ve noticed though is that the more I’ve been working out, the less energy I’ve had, and I can’t wait until the next diet subs in more carbs to give me more energy throughout the day. Although the lack of energy I’ve been having could very well be due to the anxiety and depression I’ve been feeling due to being jobless and under a lot of pressure to start making money before September 1 when my school loans need to start being paid.
Last Week Recap
A few things happened last week that I failed to write about due to being really lethargic lately. Sorry! Anyway, along with applying to tons of jobs, I’ve been working on a site with Hanna and her friend Art called Pittsburgh Motive. A site which will be a place people can go to find out something to do in Pittsburgh, whether it pertains to nightlife, concerts, art, sports, or anything else we think up, our plan is to list it on the site. Art seems really connected and has some great ideas on ways to market and monetize, so I’ve been working pretty hard on getting it functional as quick as possible.
I’m doing it in Ruby on Rails, so worst case scenario I’ll have something really nice in my portfolio and have something to talk about at the meetups.
Speaking of meetups, I attended the SEMPO meetup on Thursday and realized how bad my networking skills are. But they say realizing a problem is the first step to fixing it, so I figure they can only get better the more I attend. I also feel like I learned quite a bit more about SEO and advertising than I did before so it wasn’t a complete loss.
One last thing, on Saturday I submitted the papers to volunteer for computer help at the Brentwood Library two Saturdays a month so that should be starting soon. Which means I actually am still working on my list even though I haven’t been writing about them often.
